Angie is here again battling the heat and fighting the urge to turn on the air conditioning. It'll be another small one as there's not much going on in the world of Void.

Void News

Not much on the battle's page the past few weeks, most likely thanks to finals and potentially vacations. When you guys get some free time you should all give the battle page some love and get some comics going! I'll join the party once I finish coloring a Pulpo entry.

Void Art Showcase
If you would like to showcase some Void related art, please note it to this account and I'll display it here. Please only 1 image at a time, you can send me a new one after your last one has been showcased. I will put images up in the order they have been received.

Now for this week's question

If you could change one thing about Void, what would it be? Getting rid of certain mods or individuals doesn't count.

Random Battles of the Week

Scar matches this week, it's totally not cheap at all to list one of my own battles. 4 this week because I've featured Black and James a ton of times but it wouldn't be right to not include that particular battle.

Shrapnel Girl vs. Mize [link]
Agent Black vs. James [link]
Suit vs. Angela Rudell [link]
Ivan Dimitri vs. The Introvert [link]

And that's it for now! Please direct any questions or comments related to the DA to :iconangieness::iconkotori-ky:

ENTERVOID [link]

Launched in 2002, EnterVOID offers artists a place to hone their artistic skills in a competitive and cooperative environment. Once artists create an original character, they are able to challenge any other artists on the site to a comic battle. Upon completion, a community of artists gives helpful critiques and advice on how to improve each artist’s craft even further. With hundreds of unique characters and thousands of artists, EnterVOID is a haven for those seeking to improve their comic creation skills.

Alumni of EnterVOID feature the talented Sheldon ("Supertron") Vella, Kenneth ("Madame Mirage") Rocafort, Eisner-nominated James ("Wonton Soup") Stokoe, and many others with published works.

EnterVOID.com features thousands of comics from a globally diverse set of artists, covering nearly every genre of storytelling and artistic style. We recently re-launched with a brand-new design and features to bring increased levels of interactivity for comic artists.

koshi was rank 12 one day, lost a battle by 4 points, suddenly rank 42.

MOAR DETH MATCHES
:iconphillipchanter:
Change the rankings, and make scar matches accessible again.
:iconangieness:
what needs to be changed about the rankings?

I'd change is the whole +50 points for winning your first battle. That's way too generous overall for a beginner on void. Maybe 20 points for completing your first battle and work your way up from there. The whole thing just confuses the hell out of me, and Kevin has explained it all to me in great detail.
:iconangieness:
I had no idea your first battle counted towards more than a regular battle. That's kind of odd considering as far as I know, death and scar matches are no longer worth more points than a regular match. (that's just purely observation though I don't know if that is for sure the truth but it doesn't seem to be the case)

I guess that does explain why new comers get up in ranks pretty easily. But if you think about it, if every single person gets +50 points on their first match then that wouldn't change the ranks because everyone would be getting the same benefit from having a first match so it's not really giving anyone an advantage.

You know, I can safely say that there isn't much at all that I want to see changed with VOID right now. I mean, I'm not fond of the ranking system, either... but that's more from the negative attitude some people have about it towards each other than the system itself. (But I think the system is also confusing as hell... but I look at numbers and get dizzy sooooo... eh. Math and I are not the best of friends. Ehe.)

My main issues with VOID have always been the acceptance of styles, mainstream or not, and not discriminating against styles just because they're not 'indy' or 'too mainstream' or 'omg not anime uuuugh'. I think with the wider range of artists that come to VOID, the better the attitude is towards the various styles and the better VOID becomes. I also like the reaching out and willingness of people in the forums more to help teach and guide artists who want to use the Go For Broke and Incubator threads to improve.

So, like I said... the changes I'd like to see in VOID are happening, either behind the scenes as Toast works on the site, or from the growing diversity in the users. Keep on truckin' VOID. :}
